GfK achieved sales increase of 6.2% in 2011 based on preliminary figures
January 31, 2012 - In financial year 2011, the GfK Group achieved an increase in sales and income. Based on the preliminary figures, sales were up by 6.2% to around EUR 1,374 million in financial year 2011. Adjusted operating income rose 1.8% to approximately EUR 188 million, with a margin of 13.7%.

Mixed results within Technical Consumer Goods market

One in three online shoppers in the CEE region, owns a smartphone
October 27, 2011 - 14.2 percent of mobile phone owners in the CEE region have a smartphone. Looking at specific countries, the largest share of consumers who own -one of these high-end mobile devices can be found in Slovenia, Turkey and Lithuania, whilst Slovakia, Ukraine and Romania bring up the rear of the league chart. Accessing the Internet from one’s own handset is a trend that goes hand in hand with the expansion of smartphones. This progressive group of consumers is also very appealing for retailers because smartphone owners account for 31 percent of the CEE online-shopping population. These are some of the findings of the CEE Telco Industry Report 2011, an international study conducted in 15 CEE countries on a sample comprising more than 15,000 respondents.

GfK Slovakia is introducing an essential innovation in the monitoring of FMCG and fresh groceries

Small domestic appliances on upward trend in Europe
September 09, 2011 - The European market for small domestic appliances (SDA) has continued to stay on the growth path in the first six months of the year. While Western European markets recorded a sales increase of 5% in comparison to the previous year, Eastern European countries registered a staggering increase of 25%. Major domestic appliances: growth trend
September 09, 2011 - The pleasing trend for major domestic appliances has continued in the first half of 2011. In Europe, particularly Eastern Europe, markets are once again showing very positive rates of growth. In Africa and the Middle East, demand is steadily increasing and Asian countries still have a large share in global developments. North America, on the other hand, has declining tendencies due to the difficult economic situation, whereas South America has still been able to increase sales revenue.
