German consumer climate improves further
May 24, 2013 - The consumer mood in Germany continued to be very positive in May. Economic and income expectations improved slightly, while willingness to buy once again remained at an extremely high level on the whole. Following 6.2 points in May, the overall indicator is forecasting a value of 6.5 points for June.

Germany: Consumer climate stabilizes
March 27, 2013 - The consumer mood in Germany does not display a uniform trend in March. While economic expectations improved slightly, there was a marginal decrease in income expectations and willingness to buy. Following 5.9 points in March, the overall indicator is also forecasting a value of 5.9 points for April.

Czechs and Slovaks were paying more money for confectionery in the past year. So, their consumption slightly decreased
March 21, 2013 - The increase in consumer prices in the past year did not leave out the market with confectionery. Because of this rise in prices Czech and Slovaks had to dig deeper into their wallets and paid for confectionery on average by 12 and by 10 per cent respectively more than they did a year ago.

Q4 2012: Most sectors in decline
February 27, 2013 - The total turnover of the Technical Consumer Goods (TCG) market in Slovakia declined by more than 8 percent in the last quarter of 2012 compared to the same period in 2011. The worst developments were seen in the Consumer Electronics and IT sectors.

Smartphones bring fresh boost
February 25, 2013 - Global demand for mobile phones increased significantly in 2012. Last year, a greater number of smartphones than standard mobile phones were sold in the Christmas trading period for the first time. This positive trend is attributable to smartphone prices being increasingly attractive.

GfK expands audience measurement and wins radio contract in Australia
February 25, 2013 - Commercial Radio Australia (CRA) has awarded the contract for radio audience measurement to international market research company GfK. The three year contract starts on 1 January 2014 and aims to make radio audience measurement in Australia fit for the future.

European financial crisis appears to have
February 19, 2013 - Europe is stuck in recession. However, experts believe that the crisis may have reached its lowest point in autumn last year. Consumers also seem to think it is now feasible that there will be an economic upswing at the end of 2013, possibly even earlier in some countries. In line with this, economic and income expectations increased slightly again in most of Europe, albeit still remaining at an extremely low level.

Consumption 2013 – Germany’s economic boost
February 19, 2013 - According to GfK forecasts, spending of private households in Germany will increase by 1 percent in real terms in 2013. This was announced by Matthias Hartmann, CEO of GfK, at today’s press conference in Nuremberg.
